Fiddle, mandolin, bodhran, whistle and electric guitar combine with acoustic guitar, vocals and maybe the odd pair of spoons for a fresh take on traditional Scottish and Irish music. The Pictoids are anything from a one-man band to a five-piece depending on the occasion, and they have a weekly Monday night folk session at The White Hart Inn in Edinburgh's Grassmarket.


Many of the musicians who play in The Pictoids also play in the folk-rock band Jacob's Pillow.
